Tronçais Bois Merrains

Identity

Established for over 20 years in the Allier, near the forest of Tronçais- the forest planted by Colbert to supply the royal arsenals of Louis XIV- Tronçais Bois Merrain selects, shapes and transforms the most beautiful oaks to extract from their heart the aptly named "perfect wood", that can then be turned into staves of admirable quality.

The split of the oak, this unique know-how that requires method, care, attention and precision, is carried under the watchful gaze of the stave-millers who constantly scrutinize the wood grain to ensure the quality of the logs.

To obtain a near perfect maturity, the staves are carefully inspected, selected and stacked in the open air for more than thirty months.
